Honey Bun Cake

Honeybun CAke

I don’t know that I have ever had so many messages over an Instagram story. So here I am at midnight throwing together a super quick blog post all about this Honey Bun Cake!

Now, I can not take credit for this recipe. I actually found it from Julia Pacheco, but tweaked it just a little bit. This cake is absolutely delicious. Very sweet. But delicious. I made it for a Sunday afternoon dessert, but this would be perfect to take to your next gathering. You will be asked to bring it again. I promise.

So I will keep this short and sweet since this is an impromptu post (sorry for the lack of photos).

Ingredients:

Cake
1 Box Yellow Cake Mix
4 Eggs
1/2 Cup Vegetable Oil
8 oz Sour Cream

Cinnamon Layer
3/4 Cup Brown Sugar
1 TBSP Cinnamon

Glaze
1.5 Cups Powdered Sugar
1/4 Cup Milk
1 TSP Vanilla Extract

Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F.
Toss your two ingredients for your cinnamon layer in a bowl and mix well.
Now mix all your cake ingredients in a separate bowl. I mixed by hand, but you can use a hand mixer or stand mixer if you would prefer.
Grease a 9×13 baking dish. Dump your cake mixture into the dish. Layer the cinnamon mixture on top. Now, take a butter knife or a spatula (whatever your heart desires), and swirl that mixture in. DO NOT FOLD IT IN. Just swirl it around in the batter.
You are going to bake this in the preheated oven for roughly 40 minutes.
While your cake is baking, make your glaze by mixing your glaze ingredients together. You can set this aside until the cake is done.
Once you take your cake out of the oven, WHILE IT IS STILL HOT, pour the glaze over the top of the cake.

Now, grab you a very large glass of milk and enjoy!

If you make this cake, please let me know how you like it. It was a HUGE hit in the Bacon house.

Happy cooking, friends.
